Perhaps the biggest challenge we face when wanting to write a blog..is what do I write? The answer is we write to our audience and provide them with pertinent and timely information.  My audience will be individuals who are working in the internet marketing arena and are looking for content that will help and be of value  to  them and their readers.

The most important thing is never just to write just to  write something. I found this out. After almost 100 blogs I was not getting any traction..why? they were of a general and plain vanilla variety. Yes, they had good ideas. Yes ,they addressed issues like watching your thinking. But that does not get you far. Sort of shooting in the dark with glasses on and hoping that someone will find your blog.Sorry, that will not happen. Even if a blind hog finds an acorn once in a while!

              So,what to do. Identify who you want to reach. Then find out as much about that market as you can…books, Google, meetups, friends, etc. And then blog on those things with VALUE. So, what is value? It is

money! Now the arrows do not point exactly to  the money! But you get the picture! For instance my good friend Ray Higdon (www.rayhigdon.com) has a mastermind group where people can get their ?? answered to all types of things including blogging. Do  not pitch your business on your blog. Offer some type of incentive for them to read your blog. Offer some free sites where they can get good stuff. In other words…bring value and content to the marketplace and you will shine!!
Another must is to bring fresh info to the market place and let people know that you are the one who can provide what they need. Just ask them. Gary Vaynerchuk in his book “Crush It” says just to go on Twitter and ask ” What  can I do for you today” you may or may ot get response but ask…I do once in a while and have gotten some responses. Been sometime since I last wrote a blog however wanted to make future ones relevant to the audience  I want to reach. As I mentioned in my last one, writing just for the sake of writing a blog will not get you much. One must focus on some group or market that you want to reach. For some , it may be a passion they have… for others like myself it may be some group that I relate to in a way that I can provide value in what I write.

The master to me of blogging must be my good friend, Ray Higdon..www.rayhigdon.com…as mentioned in the last blog..he had over 15,000.000 million hits to his blog last year and is on target to surpass that this year. Why? He provides VALUE. VALUE. One word that is so important to understand. Otherwise  you are just writing for the sake of writing and not providing your readers with anything important or helps them in their business.

In order to bring value to  the table, one must have a compelling argument or some sort of content that will help your reader with what ever problem they may have. Writing blogs is not hard but you need to know your audience. Everyday Ray provides something relevant for his readers. What I  want to do is provide the same relevant material. How, by using what I am taught and applying it in this blog. So , what I have I learned lately?

Traffic. Traffic. Traffic. Is the name of the game. You  can have the greatest info in the world but if no one sees it?? It will be of little value. Today’s way of gaining readers is thru social media. There are a number of ways you  can broadcast your blog to the world. One way I do it is by using Only Wire..they will send your blog out to at least 45 or more different social media sites. I have also investigated hiring some one to blast my blog out  to at least 100 more sites. The more sites. The more exposure. And if your content is relevant the more people you will attract. You will become the expert or go to person. You will be “branding” your self  to your audience.

This all ties in with the concept of helping other people. The best thing you can do in this world is help other people. Giving is far better than receiving. Do you know how to blog? I thought I did. You simply write something, hit  “publish” and wait for the phone calls. Boy, little did I know. I have written about 90 blogs over the past several weeks. You know how many people responded with a comment? Just very very few ! Know how many leads from people who wanted to know more about what I wrote? O! Discouraging? Yes. But I kept on and on until I took a course by the master at marketing..Ray Higdon….he tells you exactly what to say, how to say it and how to get people to respond. You see, Ray had over 15 million..that is right 15 million hits on his blog last year!  And he averages about 1 million hits a month so far this year. You think you can learn something? 15million hits!

Now, I was writing about self improvement. Watching your thinking. Which in  itself is a good topic and one that everyone should read. After all, if you do not watch your thinking then you will get what you think. Good thinking will produces good results. Bad thinking or negative thinking will produce negative results. Pretty elementary. However, some  people just do not understand the human mind and how they must guard against what comes  in and what gets rejected. You must control thoughts in the first instance or they will control you in the second.

This is where Ray comes  in. You need to target your market. Just writing like I did sounds great and some people left comments..not many.. but I was not providing readers with enough reason to contact me or leave more impressionable remarks. Now, I was attempting to help them and still want to and will. But with Rays training  you  can be more specific and get mucho better results. Absolutely. You see, people want to be helped. And I feel that what I as offering was mental help..and it was..and is but it just was not lighting a fire under them to want to contact me and work with me on their thinking. Most of us struggle with limiting concepts that we have about ourselves. I think even the most positive thinking people in the world have to constantly watch their thinking and not allow themselves to fall into the trap of limiting ideas. Why is this? Why does  the negative seem to be the predominate thought? What is going on? Well, I certainly do not have all the answers. However, I do maintain that the “atmosphere” of thinking in the world is one of negative thoughts primarily. Why? Because the world generally loves bad news rather than good news. Do not ask me why? Yes, good news does get noticed. It does get play in the world. There is more good than bad in the world. Why? Because the general drift of thought has been good since time began. Because things were created good. Because man was created to be good. But it is always a fight between good and evil in the world and in our thoughts. So, how do you overcome limitations?

Begin with what you are allowing to enter your mind. Some thoughts we know should be ejected. Some are good and can stay. Others we are not so  sure and need to think about. Mainly, watch what you are allowing to “stay” in your mind. What stays will control you whether you like or not. Limiting thoughts can be discarded because they are not “good” and only good can enter your thinking…if you are watchful and not deserting the “post” of good thinking. It takes practice and alot of it. Alot. And on a constant basis. Over a long period of time…essentially forever. Until evil is destroyed we must constantly watch and watch our thinking. Good thoughts will arm you. And, over a period of time you will find yourself overcoming smaller things and then bigger things and so on. But, never let down your guard. It is a perpetual exercise.

The overcoming of limitations is not one of birth, social level, education, job, sex,origin..etc. It is simply demanding of yourself that you will not let anything and I mean anything from your accomplishment. Nothing will stand in the way. Most are not that forceful about our life and what we want. Most are content with rolling along with things. And there is nothing wrong with that. But for those of you who want to step up and step out you need and must handle the fear of limitation and overcome this lie. You can accomplish what ever it is your want. Absolutely. No question about it. The only question is ” how bad do you want it”? If bad enough then nothing will stop you . NO LIMITATION

Someone once said the reason God gave us 2 ears and one mouth was for a very good reason……so we would listen and not talk so much. People tend to talk more than listen. And for some reason I do not know why all the time. At any rate , a good leader is a good listener.

When I was in the US Army overseas I was an officer with about 30 or so other soldiers under me. I was their platoon leader. I was also their father, mother, chaplain, friend, and what ever else I had to be. Most of the fellows had never been away from home much less in a combat zone. Most were young and still in their teens ( I was not much older). So, they had problems. All types of problems. And my job was to see to it that they got solved so they could be good soldiers. That is where the listening comes in. I listened and then did what I could to help them. And if I could not help them I found someone who could. Their efficiency in some ways depended on me solving their problems and being  a good listener. Making sure they were combat ready.

Same is true in business or any walk of life. We all have friends and co workers who need someone to listen to their issues they are facing. We have issues we want someone else to help us. That is the way of life. One of the best listeners and teachers of the art is Ray Higdon ( www.rayhigdon.com). The man is a absolutely spot on when he gives you information…information you can use and use and apply today. He is also a good listener. And he is a  good,reliable person who will respond to your needs. I know for a fact. He is also a great leader in his company and is always willing to share what he knows for he has an abundant mentality….there is enough to go around and share what you know so someone else can profit and be successful. Some people in business tend to keep it all to themselves. However, what you sow you  reap. If you sow sparingly you will reap the same. The more people I meet in life who are highly successful the more they are humble and willing to help you… and they are great listeners……….

We are having a 100 day challenge as I mentioned. The object of this challenge is to have us all improve from week to week when it comes to making exposures for your primary company, my lead system pro, personal development time, blogs, videos, and recruiting. It is intended to be intensive and to get you to grow and  do better so you are not where you  are now at the end of 100 days!!

Now, to mind control. If you do not understand that it all begins with our consciousness then you will not succeed. It is that simple. We need to reach beyond the limits of the mortal mind so called or human mind and realize our infinite capacity. We all  have it. The only thing holding people back it their limited views of life… their work, their home , their supply, etc. You improve that by understanding that you have control over your life. Not believe . Understand.This is not accomplished overnite but is done daily and hourly. We all can do it and we must if we ever hope to achieve even a fraction of our potential…this is Russ signing off until next time….

Continuing our topic of mind set and controlling your thoughts…one thing that does happen in life and that is “things happen!!”… just one of the unavoidable issues of life. My good friend, Jordan..jordan@schultz-marketing.com…wrote a short piece on one of the things that can happen in life…check out his website and read the blog…so, when thing happen in life that can be unpleasant and sometimes tragic what do you do??

You cope with the situation as best you can. Life must go on so we handle things in the way that seems best at the time, we put our lives back together..and we go on..we must! We have no other choice but to “mount up” and keep on riding. This may sound somewhat cruel and heartless…however, we have all faced situations and we have gone on. Even if we keep the best possible thoughts about ourselves our families our businesses.etc..we still will have things happen. Most people think there is nothing you can do about it..quite the contrary…you can know that the entire universe including you and me and all is governed by a higher source in thought than you or me. This has been mentioned in my previous blogs and it is fact. If there were  no higher source the universe would collapse into chaos and confusion.

Who do you think guards this earth and keeps all sorts of things flying out there in their own orbit? Who causes the rain? The snow? Who keeps things in order right here on our little earth? A higher source. So, realize that when things go awry and untoward things happen to you just do the best you can…handle things the best way you know how… and keep on keeping on.

 We do not have control over situations that happen but we do have control over our own thoughts and actions. And the best thing to do if you can is not to react! I  know that sounds a little heartless again especially in tragic situations but everyone is best served by dealing with things in their own way. Compassion in most cases is preferable over sympathy. We can still be compassionate and help those in need in time of crisis without indulging ourselves in their misfortune..comments

Today want to cover mind set and the flow of conversation when you are talking to some one about your home based business. Normally I deal with mind set and thinking however wanted to venture into this area for I just concluded listening to yet another great video by R ay Higdon..www.RayHigdon.com….you need to visit his site. I have been in the mlm business for sometime and I can tell you that there are few people who can continually give us good great stuff that we can use…and Ray is one of them……….you can Google …Ray Higdon…the guy is a master prospector and teacher……..and he is the genuine article,too. So often folks  who have had great success as Ray often get the “big” head and let their egos  get in the way. Not Ray.

The flow conversation with a prospect has to go smoothly and easily and you  need to be in control. Some great training you will find from Ray by visiting his website and by looking him up as I said on Google. You do not want to find yourself stumbling and stammering with a prospect. You need to be in control at all times. And you need to manifest “posture” which we will get into another time. Ray talks about “a break in communications” as a way to having yourself talked into a corner. You simply tell the prospect you need to jump on a conference call but if they will give you their info you will shoot a link to them and follow up. If they do not , then move on. “Next” as we say!! Not everyone is going to have an interest. The more “nos’ you get the more “yess’ you will get. It is that simple.Do not I repeat do not let yourself take it personally. No!

Now the mindset has to do with your positive mind set that what you have to offer is  important and if they are not interested then fine..move on. Always always be in control and have a positive mental attitude that what you are presenting is the best info for them….some will see it some won’t so what move on. It is this simple and you better get used to it if you expect to succeed in mlm or your homebased business…….more later
